We’re here to help
Have a question about Better Start, the NDIS transition, or Continuity of Support? Send us a message or contact your state-based carer association directly.
Before you get in touch
Better Start is now primarily an information and transition support service. New registrations for Better Start have closed, but families may still need help understanding existing programme information, the move to the NDIS, or what Continuity of Support means for a child who did not meet NDIS access requirements.
If your question is urgent or state-specific, your local Carers Association is usually the fastest starting point. Use the state and territory contacts page to find the right local service, or read the NDIS transition guide if you are checking next steps after Better Start funding.
For general programme questions, include your state, the age of your child, whether you have already tested NDIS eligibility, and whether your question relates to funding, providers, paperwork, or ongoing support. That context helps the right team point you to the most relevant information.
Before you contact Better Start
If your question is about a child who previously used Better Start, it helps to include the child's state or territory, the type of support you are looking for, and whether you are asking about NDIS transition, Continuity of Support, or historical Better Start records. Please do not include sensitive medical details in the first message unless a support worker specifically asks for them.
Families looking for current early childhood disability pathways should also check the official NDIS early childhood approach and the Department of Social Services information about early childhood intervention services and supports.
For restored Better Start information, start with the NDIS transition guide, Continuity of Support, state contacts, and the Better Start blog.
